Linda L. Holstein is a trial attorney and business litigator with 25 years of experience practicing in state and federal courts in Minnesota and across the country. Linda has won favorable jury verdicts in the U.S. District Court of Minnesota, Hennepin County state court (Minnesota) and U.S. District Court in Montana, as well as arguing successful appeals in the Fifth, Eighth and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal.
She has been recognized by her peers as one of the Top 100 Attorneys and top 100 Women Attorneys in Minnesota (Law & Politics magazine, 2002-2009) and voted as a "Top 40" Employment Attorney in Minnesota for the past nine years.
Linda grew up on a farm in Tracy, Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Minnesota with degrees in English and Theatre. She taught English and drama in two suburban Minneapolis high schools prior to going to law school. Her writing and directing background proved to be an invaluable asset for her legal career. She graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1983, where she was a Note and Comment Editor of the Minnesota Law Review. Linda's formative training as a practicing attorney was with the Minneapolis litigation firm of Opperman & Paquin, led by noted trial attorney and Minnesota businessman Vance Opperman.
Linda's contributions to the legal profession include serving as a national Vice-President of the Federal Bar Association, the President of the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. For the past 18 years, she has been a featured speaker at the Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute sponsored by the Minnesota State Bar Association, speaking on topics ranging from sexual harassment to internet and privacy issues and employee discipline. She has consistently been voted as one of the most informative and entertaining speakers at that annual conference, which regularly draws over 1,200 attendees.
In January of 2006, Linda formed the Holstein Law Firm, which became Holstein Kremer six months later. The challenge of forming her own business in the competitive legal environment of Minneapolis/St. Paul was very exciting and certainly daunting. Part of the attraction of having her own firm was being able to personally teach and train younger attorneys in the style she knows is effective with other lawyers, judges, and juries. An even greater motivation for forming Holstein Kremer was being able to provide truly personalized, focused service to clients without the distraction of large law firm economics. Entrepreneurs, executives and in-house counsel who seek Linda's advice know that she appreciates the importance of their business and legal needs, from both a professional - and a personal - vantage point.
